If you are suffering from the heat and would like to find an excuse to stay indoors, I have put together a few web pages you might enjoy while keeping cool in front of a fan. (like me!)
1) Calculate your ideal body weight here
This thing says I'm not done dieting yet. I knew that, but on the upside, it said I am not too far away either, which is nice to hear. I am considering adding some exercise to the regimen since I can't seem to stay out of the ice cream these days. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear what you enjoy in terms of exercise. I am pretty much a newbie.
2) If you are interested in trying your hand at interior design, go here to see how you do. I will warn you, this one can eat up a lot of time. At the end, some dude comes out and tells you if you are tacky or tasteful. He said I was BORRRRRING! What!
Here's a picture of what I did. It's not like they gave me Pottery Barn to work with here, people! LOL
Let me know if you can do better than this!
3) I was born and raised here in the good 'ole USA, but I have several friends who were not. Some of them have been here a long time and have even gained citizenship. I wondered if I could take that same Citizenship Test, would I pass? Well, here's your chance to find out if YOU would pass!
It is a three-part test: Civics, History and Government
Be warned: this test has sound on it. I jumped a mile high when I clicked in my answer. :)
I started with the Civics test (the easy one).
I passed! whew!
So I moved on the the Government Test. According to the computer, I passed, but out of 4 questions, I only got 3 right. In my book a 75% is a big fat FAIL. hhhmmm......
But I got my second wind in the history section with 100%.
Take this test here and let me know how you do.
4) In case you did not know, there is a great website for all kinds of free tests and games to boost your brain power and help feed the hungry at the same time. win-win!
It is called Free Rice.
Go there. Have fun. And do not ever challenge me to a duel in the Art History test, 'cause I will smoke you! LOL
What are some other ways you know of to maintain sanity indoors?
Don't forget to water your pets and be extra cautious with children in cars. They can overheat so quickly. Stay cool. Stay safe.
