My two older boys fight constantly.
CONSTANTLY.
Sometimes it is therapeutic for me to recall that my older brother and I did fight when we were little. I forget that sometimes now that we are all grown up and we play nice. It's also goo to remember that my parents we not perfect at doling out the punishments, which sort of lets me off the hook for the times when I am tired and say something like "I don't care who did it, you're all in trouble!"
I remember the time we got off the bus and no one was home. My brother ran in as fast as he could and locked me out of the house. I must have been in about 4th grade, which would mean he was in 8th. I screamed and yelled and tried to get in but I couldn't so when he sat behind the glass, taunting me. I did the only thing I could think to do.
I flipped him the bird.
And...you guessed it. I got in trouble.
Not him.
Nevermind that he locked me out of the house.
I got in trouble!
And I still remember the injustice of it all.
uh-Oh! Maybe I'm not so "off the hook" after all.

You make me think back to all the onery things I did as a kid - and we don't want to go there! *lol* But really, those things make the best stories. Maybe we should have a tell all blogging party about the worst thing we ever did as a child!
Oh Jami - I laughed out loud at this story! I do have to say I don't really remember ever experiencing this kind of injustice, which leads me to believe that every time I got in trouble I totally deserved it.

Oh, I remember all injustices of childhood and there were many!
My sister and I got into the worst cat fights ever. Mom used to throw us cold water to separate us. It worked all the time!

Yes I fought with my sister too when we were little - all the time! We now get on really well though.

Don't worry...I'm with you on unfair punishments. Sometimes it's the one who is screaming the loudest that gets it around here.
Ha! I was so much older then my siblings that I never had to worry about this kind of stuff. I was always just able to boss them around without worries. LOL
