Come, Walk With Me
I think I'm in love.
I love this picture.
(minus the dead leaves.)
It looked brighter on the other screen.
I hope you can see how vibrant the green is.
I'm loving the green.
Tonight the kids were playing in the yard.
Make believe using sticks.
I love that about my kids: they play with sticks.
They are imaginative.
They were chasing lightning bugs.
It took all my mommy strength to call them in for bed.
I want them to run and play and have fun.
These are the days...
Remember when I took you to my mother's yard?
I wonder what her neighbor thought as I lay on my belly half in the garden with my butt sticking up in the air.
Not that I care much,
but it had to be a funny sight!
He's probably blogging about pictures he took of me doing it right now.
That's sounds yucky but it was just meant to be funny.
Get your mind out of the gutter!
My yard boasts a whole different kind of flower.
And lots of them.
You want some?
I'd be happy to share.
Living in the woods means not so many flowers.
Though I have lots of hostas.
I suppose I could grow ferns.
But I don't.
Superman planted some Lilly of the Valley for me last year.
For Mother's Day in fact.
That man knows how to work it.
I am a sucker for flowers and Lilly of the Valley is one of my faves.
Convallaria.
How do you like that?
Are you still here?
Isn't this pretty!
I love violets.
I kind of love that they die if you pick them.
I think there is a lot to be learned there...
I love the fuzzy middle and the way the veins are pronounced.
I love contrast, in general.
You may have noticed.
I even love the name Violet.
Something about it just says pretty to me.
(Violet Beauregard, notwithstanding)
I kind of love this picture too.
It's SOOC, by the way.
Except for the watermark, of course.
Not that I am bragging, but once in a while I get lucky.
I'd like to crank up the saturation and make it super crazy and then frame it and hang it on the wall.
Maybe I will.
Or maybe it is what it is that makes it what it is.
Did you catch that?
I thought not.
Sorry.
I just wanted to take you on a little walk through my yard.
I think I told you I would.
So I have.
Spring is fading.
I already missed photographing the Lilacs.
Really, what have I been doing?
Even though my dogwood blooms have all fallen off, I am so glad I took this picture.
I am holding my breath right now.
I do this when I am struck with something beautiful...but not on purpose.
I'm not OCD or anything, it's just a little gasp of OMG!
Do you ever feel that way?
Awestruck by beauty?
This would be a good time to insert a pic. of my kids and brag about their loveliness, but I will pass.
Today was about the yard. grass. flowers.
What are your favorite flowers?
Do you grow them?
My favorite-favorite is not here because I don't grow it any more.
Can you guess what it is?
Here's a hint: It's very old fashioned.
Happy Wednesday.

My garden is still in the dream stage - meaning, I'm dreaming about it, but I'm putting it off until next year because I'm afraid it won't get watered while I'm in Japan. I do have a couple of small beds in the front, but nothing worth mentioning.
And old fashioned girls like roses. Or daisies. I like both. But then, I like almost all flowers. I plan on planing the ones the butterflies like, though.... so I'll have little winged visitors from time to time.
I love the pics! i love spring.. the flowers, the smells, the beauty...
God is amazing!
So pretty! We're under (another) winter storm warning so I'll probably be back tomorrow to remember what spring looks like in places that actually GET a spring ...

Great pics! My favorite is tulips. I wish I could plant them, but when I did a few years back, the deer ate them!
All of these pics are just beautiful, especially the hyacinth. The colors are so sharp and vibrant. My favorite flower is, of course, a rose. :)
