What's Up With the Horse? and What's up for 2010?

Well, my pretties, it is time to explain myself.

{The horse}

Handsome, huh?

People, meet LB. LB, meet the people.

LB is not my horse. You might remember him from this post  by Ree at The Pioneer Woman.

So you know I love photography. Actually, I hope you know I love pretty much anything creative...and especially if it is BEAUTIFUL. Well this horse took my breath away. At least this photo of this horse did.(Ree's whole blog sort of has that effect on me, but don't tell her.)

It just so happened that I was really itching to redo my header (surprise, huh?) after Christmas when I stumbled across this picture again. And NO I did not steal it. Ree makes it available for  free download at her website here.

At the same time, Superman and I have been considering where to go for our annual vacation. Last year we sort of kicked off a campaign to see how many states we can visit (not just drive though) with the kids. It has turned out to be cool (only one official trip so far, mind you) because it is forcing us to see things we might otherwise overlook.
 So... this year we will be going to Kentucky. I know you know I want to go to Texas, but THAT trip will have to be just me and Superman first. Wait! I am getting off track here....

So um, yeah, we are going to Kentucky. A big part of the reason is to see the horses. No, not the Derby because we don't think the kids would really enjoy that, but to see the farms, the horse museum and the Kentucky Horse Park.(Not to mention the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, the Muhammed Ali Center...and more!)

                             *insert little known facts about me: I have a freakish fascination with factories and factory tours
AND I have always been a big fan of boxing! CRAZY, huh!*

So getting back to my blog header...I am redoing my header. And I am almost finished. So keep checking back. But for now, LB has agreed to grace us with his handsome face. Actually I am liking him SO much that I have included him in the new header...I hope you will like it.

His presence here is quite timely, don't you agree? Even though he's not a Kentucky fellow. He's still a horse. Which. is. the. point!

I have been reading a lot of other bloggers discussing their "word of the year". Strange as it may sound, it looks like this just might be the year of the horse for me.  :)

That means good times for Princess. remember this?
Pin It!

We lived in Louville, Ky. for about 5 years and loved every minute of it. I hope that you thoroughly enjoy your vacation there. I have also been to all the museums that you speak of and miss the fact that we can not go there anymore since we now live in upstate NY. The Kentucky bluegrass that is often spoken of is beautiful. It is definately worth a drive throughout the state. It is a beautiful state.
